In the 30th episode of Delay the Decay, we shift from the usual guest format to a personal monologue about growth, gratitude, and living with “direction, not perfection.” We talk about my “wall of fame and shame,” my faith in God’s goodness and sovereignty, and thankfulness for 46 years of marriage, family, friendships, and 10 grandkids.
I reflect on ongoing struggles with pride (vanity about appearance and reluctance to wear hearing aids) and control, discussing relinquishing outcomes to God in fitness goals, relational conflict, health, and money; repenting of theological pride; choosing curiosity over judgment; and pursuing intentional growth with “most valuable practices”.
